Tune In, Turn On, Awaken the New You – Curated by Shery Clein, Your MindfulLiving™ Coach

Remember that stress is a natural response, but how you handle it can significantly impact your well-being and learning. While these techniques can be helpful, it is essential to address the root causes of stress when possible and cultivate a healthy balance between challenge and relaxation in your learning journey.
1. Keep Calm and Deep Breaths:
Taking deep breaths can activate the body’s relaxation response when faced with stress or anxiety. It helps calm the mind and reduces the physiological effects of stress. Deep breathing also promotes mindfulness, which can help you stay present and focused on the task at hand.
2. Shift Focus to Positivity:
When stress arises, shifting your focus to something positive can redirect your thoughts away from the source of stress. This could be a happy memory, a future goal, or anything that brings you joy. This technique helps break the cycle of negative thinking and enables you to regain a more balanced perspective.
3. Avoid Preconceived Notions:
What you already know can hinder learning, a concept rooted in the idea of the **’beginner’s mind.’** This concept suggests that approaching learning with a fresh, open, and curious mindset can lead to more effective learning experiences. When you assume you know everything about a topic, you might miss new perspectives and insights that could enrich your understanding.
