The Importance of Practice
Neuroplasticity refers to the brain’s remarkable capacity to reorganise itself by forming new neural pathways and discarding useless ones. Practising new behaviours consistently is essential for rewiring the brain and adopting new ways of thinking.
The Practice of Meditation
Meditation is a powerful tool for countering stress, normalising biorhythms, and restoring balance to the body and mind.
Finding time to meditate may be challenging in today’s fast-paced world. However, even brief moments of mindfulness can yield significant benefits.
If dedicating 10 to 15 minutes to meditation feels difficult, consider integrating shorter mindfulness practices throughout your day. Here are some options for even the busiest schedules:
- Stretch Regularly: Stand up and stretch at least once an hour. Instead of checking your phone, take this time to move your body and refresh your mind.
- Centre Yourself: Take deep breaths whenever you notice negative thoughts or sensations. Inhale for a count of four, pause, exhale for a count of four, and pause again. Repeat until you feel centred.
- Embrace Nature: During breaks, step outside if possible. Close your eyes and meditate for two to five minutes. This practice helps you return to your tasks feeling rejuvenated.
- Manage Stress: If you encounter stressful situations, find a quiet space to clear your mind and practice breathing exercises. Do not wait for stress to resolve; take control in the moment.
Note: While these practices do not replace a formal meditation program, they offer valuable benefits when incorporated into daily life.

Relating to the MindfulLiving™ Course
Our course strongly emphasises experiential learning and daily practice, essential to progress. It is all about learning by practising mindfulness every day.
Learning mindfulness, like mastering any skill, requires consistent practice. Just as you would not learn to surf from a book alone, mindfulness needs mental and physical engagement.
Set aside 30 to 45 minutes each day for your practice. Finding this time may seem challenging initially, but with persistence, you will experience a sense of increased space and time, even on the busiest days.

Thank you for dedicating yourself to this module. Your commitment to growth is inspiring! Remember, your journal is a powerful tool—do not forget to record your thoughts and progress along the way.
We look forward to seeing you in the next transformative chapter and wish you health, clarity, and continued success with Shery Clein MindfulLiving™ Coaching. 🩵
